Discussion Items
Systems Subcommittee Chair Update (Katherine)
Metadata/Cataloguing subcommittee is developing a minimum set of bibliographic standards and other standards for Network Zone with the goal of improving quality of records. The subcommittee may expand this work to create educational opportunity for library staff doing cataloging work in the NZ.
There was a meeting with Cambrian College with IT to discuss SIS integration and address issues with patron records where it was determined that it is important to migrate patron data even if it is not ideal to preserve connections with transactions.
Draft SIS Integration Decisions for Improved Analytics Briefing Note Review (Amanda)
The subcommittee discussed feedback around clarifying required data and optional data related to analytics, and how to state the requirements for that optional data.
The briefing note should also provide recommended heading for statistical categories, but if a college needs to use their own headings that is ok. Concern if different names may lead to issues pulling the data. Rebecca suggests to use field name (e.g. Subject Field 1) instead.
ACTION ITEM: Liana to clarify with Jessica if Analytics can just refer to field name (e.g. Subject Field 1), rather than name label at Analytics training meeting.
ACTION ITEM: Amanda to update briefing note and circulate to subcommittee members.
The goal to finalize Briefing Note on Feb 21 and submit to ISC for approval.
Other Items - CLO Analytics requirements
The subcommittee discusses if the data for CLO Analytics should be exported centrally from Alma.
The https://clo-collaboration-spaces.atlassian.net/l/c/szfAR6Wu document provided the requirements and how they may be pulled from Alma or not - will need to determine more once analytics training is provided. If a college decides not to use certain functionality, then will need to record this as results cannot be pulled for that college.
