Study Group Session 98: General Question and Answer
Session Notes
Dana O’Hagan, Niagara College: DLRs for resource sharing
staff are getting requests for articles in Primo VE
there are features in the DLRs that could work to the hide the Resource Sharing Request link
Diana Borges, OCLS:
s. 3.15 of the Resource Sharing Documents includes instructions for creating DLRs to hide the link for articles and a workaround for hiding the links for openurls: Configuration Instructions - Page 1+ Alma & Primo Guide - LibGuides at Heads of Libraries and Learning Resources - Colleges Ontario
the issue is also documented here with links to the discussion forum posts where colleges have shared their approaches for this: Known Issues | Resource sharing request option appearing in records for electronic resources
Aimee Jeffrey, Conestoga College:
How are staff handling the cancelled requests? Do you have another form for ILL requests obtained externally?
Dana:
staff will do a Google search to see if there is an article available through Google Scholar that they can send
have a partnership with Brock University and reach out to them
try to locate the article externally and if they can’t find it, leave the cancellation notice as is
have another ILL Request form that students fill out through LibWizard and encourage students to proceed with this form for items that can’t be located at the colleges
Travis Winwood, Algonquin College:
left auto-cancelation going as it is used for other reasons but their ILL team reaches out to the patron to let them know the request is being put through the regular ILL process and will get back to them
reach out to external partners
created analytics report to catch any cancellations that are missed by staff
Travis: EBSCO resources not populating properly in Primo VE
EBSCO resources not populating in Primo VE, high percentage not in CDI/not showing up, > 60% for some databases
opened a ticket with Ex Libris and will update the group if they hear back
packages managed by the consortia are all affected
most concerning issue is the articles not in CDI
also noticed that some articles not tagged as open access in Alma, but when you go to them they are and some coverage issues
issue seems to be isolated to EBSCO
posted on Page 1+ Discussion Forum: EBSCO/CDI issue
Aimee:
had the same issue at Conestoga
Ex Libris has contacted EBSCO on their behalf
Travis: Is there preparatory work for colleges for the next phase of resource sharing?
Liana:
nothing you can do at the moment
implementation team is still going through the process of digital resource sharing, going through the workflows and testing
meeting with the copyright interest group tomorrow afternoon for their input on digitization
documentation for local digitization is in Confluence if you would like to take a look at it but we don’t recommend getting started until the Copyright Interest Group has provided guidelines
Danielle Emon, OCLS: next CLO Cataloguing Session
the next CLO Cataloguing Session will be held on February 20 and will focus on cataloguing DVDs and streaming video

Hold issue for multi volume monographs: Issue resolved by opening the Physical Item Editor and adding a volume number to the Description field for each item of the multi-volume monograph.
Rialto, purchased ebooks, and Primo look:
St Clair noticed that the purchased eBook appeared at top of the search results in Primo VE and chapters appear separately below it
Mohawk reached out to Proquest about this issue and shared the instructions they were given for hiding CDI eBooks
Rialto orders placed in February failed due to Alma regression in February release.
Ex Libris Development are working on a fix and will push through affected orders.
Travis: issue with new Circulation UI and RFID readers
is anyone else having this issue?
when they have the RFID enabled and are scanning something without a tag, there is usually a pop up that will say that the security couldn’t be chaged
it seems that pop up is failing and they are not able to scan until everything is reset
using Bibliotheca reader
will post on Page 1+ Discussion forum and check Alma Listserv
