• Welcome Brenda and Maureen! We are thrilled to have you you joining up on the Metadata and Cataloguing Sub-Committee!

Subcommittee Chair Update from Implementation Steering Committee

• Dijana identified a ISC update which will be presented at the next meeting for this subcommittee. The update will focus primarily of the future of the Met/Cat subcommittee, and the guidance provided by CLO.

035 Field Purpose in the CLO Metadata Standards LibGuide

• The 035 could act as a match point in the future, especially if it is decided by the subcommittee that the definition of ‘brief record’ should be expanded upon.

• Could be used for IZ/NZ Linking as a matchpoint tool.

• Control numbers will heavily influence decisions about this moving forwards

Bibliographic records with ISSN and ISBN

• The subcommittee is working towards determining the best manner in which to reflect/display both the ISSN and the ISBN of specific serials (special edition, specific year, etc.)

• Identified a need to establish who will be in charge of editing those records, and what kind of cataloguing level is needed to be given to specific individuals to edit and modify the applicable records.

• Proposed solution: Including a subfield “q” into the record to provide qualifying information

OLAC and 337 for Streaming videos/streaming audio

• The subcommittee is working towards determining if the 337 field for Streaming Video and Audio should, or should not be, a repeatable field.
