Ending/ Next Steps for Subcommittees and ISC

Proposed restructuring of Page 1+ Subcommittees was reviewed by CLO executive and CLO members in the September 28th CLO Members meeting.

It was expressed that CLO Executive and members are seeking to downsize the number of committees to prevent “bloating”.

The proposed restructuring suggested significant changes to existing CLO Committees and Steering Groups. An evaluation of the roles, responsibilities, activities, and skills required for restructured committees is necessary. The CLO Members hope to retain current experts while also attracting new members to the committees during this restructuring.

A working meeting was proposed for November 30th for CLO members to hash out what should be done next for the committees.

Understanding the Page 1+ requirement for roles that need to be undertaken BEFORE the Nov. 30th meeting (what skills, what kind of tasks, etc.) will enhance the productivity of the meeting. As Chairs of Page 1+ Subcommittees, ISC members are in a good position to prepare recommendations for the types of Page 1+ related committee activities that will be important going forward.

It will take time to restructure and put into place newly envisioned committees. In the meantime, there may be issues that need more immediate decision. The ISC will aim to consider these issues and ensure they are directed to the correct individuals across Page 1+ libraries for quick decision-making when necessary.
