@Liana Giovando will reach out to Patricia Buckley for info about list of suppressed term for UX Subcommittee.
@Liana Giovando@Aura Hill@Lauren Rupert to follow up on gathering information from EDS colleges and potential guidance/communication.
@Liana Giovando@Aura Hill create space for colleges to share their EDI statements.

Discussion Items

Action Item - UX subcommittee to develop guidance (e.g. blog post/communication) for EDS colleges/users about what their experience will like be in Primo

The UX subcommittee discussed this request but felt they needed more information about what would be helpful, especially as not many members have experience with EDS. They would like to ask EDS colleges what would be useful for/needed by them and what would it look like. UX could contribute by providing technical steps. Also, it is suggested that the CLSP could strike a temporary working group for EDS colleges to clarity.
The original suggestion was for a communication suggested to help outline key differences, and key EDS functions to translate into Primo.

ACTION ITEM: Liana/Aura/Lauren to follow up on gathering information from EDS colleges and potential guidance/communication.

Subcommittee Chair Updates

Met/Cat: The subcommittee is on track and receiving feedback from members on minimum standards work. They will meet next week. Local field testing is going well at Humber.

UX:

SAD: Meeting today. No updates.

TCPR: The subcommittee proposes the https://clo-collaboration-spaces.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CIS/pages/511737867 for acceptance by ISC.

  • Katherine and Thomas refer “Propelize par” over “Realize par”

  • Some concerns around Page 1+ “Academic Search” is very close to EBSCO’s Academic Search Complete (1st Google result for “academic search”)

    • Academic Search is only a qualifier and may not be used as often; only in cases where context is necessary; could be “academic research”

  • Visual identity shown from Aubs & Mugg

    • Some find the example of the logo in colour with half-tones difficult to look at - concerned with accessibility. This could be improve by adding definition maybe.

    • Logo with defined lines does not have the same effect.

    • Liked the ability to have logo in college colours.

    • For “powered by” examples, the text is all the same size. Would like emphasis on Page 1+

    • Could they have a T-shirt mock up (promotion)?

    • Humber will have goodbye Sirsi cake on day before launch and Hello Alma cake on launch day.

    • OCLS may be able support some promotional material.

  • DECISION: Briefing Note is approved - name will be Page 1+. with minor modifications to logo, French version of “powered by”, font, etc. Announcement will wait until logo is finalized.

  • For next steps, Alexandra will share feedback with Jane and provide to Aubs & Mugg. When revised versions are ready and Aubs and Mugg are ready to communicate the brand, then an official announcement will be made.

OCLS Update

Mohawk has voted to accept agreement with Ex Libris and join consortium. There are still some details to be finalized.

For Syndetics subscription, all participating colleges will get a free trial, even those that already subscribe. The trial will run until the end of Sept. OCLS will need the library catalogue URL in Primo. Most colleges are interested in trying to implement for Go Live, but it can be done after Go Live if needed.

The service proposal being developed on network zone metadata services will be provided to Met/Cat subcommittee for feedback next week.
