Page 1+ Communications & Training Update

Hi everyone,

With the launch of Page 1+ fast approaching, communicating to our users, including library staff, faculty and students is a key part of making the Page 1+ launch a success. In addition, we have received questions about the training approach for Alma and Primo VE for library staff and we wanted to clarify training expectations. Below you will find a detailed update on training and communications to assist you with your library’s launch plans.

Summary:

Communications

Aubs & Mugg, our marketing firm, has developed a launch communications plan with draft communications content, as well as promotional material for social media, websites and on-campus marketing.

The expectation is for colleges to use the communications plan and resources to create their own customized communication plan and implement it. The communications plan outlines which communications that college libraries are responsible for and which communications will be sent out by the Project Management Office. The Phase 1 communications are scheduled for next week, so please review the plan as soon as possible.

This material can be found on the Communications page of Page 1+ Alma & Primo LibGuide. Please view the full page to see the communications plan and resources, as well as sample communications from colleges.

Also, if you have already been communicating about Page 1+, please share any media with us so we can add examples to the LibGuide to share with other colleges (email: ahill@ocls.ca).

Training Library Staff

We would like to clarify the expectations around training library staff for Alma & Primo VE. There will not be training provided by Ex Libris for all library staff. The implementation project has a train-the-trainer approach and extensive training has been provided to the college liaisons and library staff directly involved with the migration. The expectation is for each college library to arrange training their staff using the expertise of their college liaison and resources provided. However, we are here to help and we have a lot of resources at our disposal. Please check out:

If you have training material you are comfortable sharing with other colleges, please send it to ahill@ocls.ca and we will add it to the LibGuide.
