Will there be a control field coding that needs to be brought up to minimum standard? Will there be any local information that needs to be moved to 950-999? Does anything need to be marked #9 LOCAL?
Local tagging 950 - 999 tags will need to be considered once the Met/Cat has defined local tags for the consortia
Suggestions for Non-Sirsi Libraries
The following are recommendations for data cleanup that may or may not be relevant to all libraries.
Fines, fees: clean up fines, fees, or other transactions that are older than a certain date and/or less than a certain amount, that should be forgiven;
Patron files: clean up and/or purge patron records that are inactive or expired and have no outstanding items, fines, fees, or other transactions
Clean up brief order records are old, should have been closed, or have been inactive for years.
You also may need to clean up any coding errors that may prevent items from being mapped to locations;
Weeded items: purge prior to cutover.
Local tags may need to be reviewed (how you are marking them). Alma Migration Considerations for Consortia - Ex Libris Knowledge Center (exlibrisgroup.com)
