Complete Health Checklist

Ex Libris’ Health Checklist must be completed to ensure you have sufficiently tested your live Alma and Primo VE environments.

The Health Checklist is due Friday, August 26. Please rename your checklist to include your college’s name and upload it to the Health Checklist folder in Basecamp.

Additional guidance for completing the checklist is provided below.

General Guidance

  • If you are not planning on using something now or in the future (e.g., acquisitions), then you may choose not to test it. In that case, please select “NA” on the checklist.

  • For the Primo section, only complete the Discovery Interface (Primo VE) section (p. 6-7). Do not complete the Primo section (p. 8-9).

Please report problems on Basecamp right away so Ex Libris is aware of issues.
If you have additional questions about the Health Checklist, review Basecamp Messages for Health Checklist-related questions and/or post a new question.

Please test in your IZ only. Work in the NZ is on hold until CLO Metadata Standards are available.

Resource Management and Inventory

Library Activity

  • Are you able to import new records (individually and batch)?
    e.g. Connexion, vendor files.

  • Are you able to overlay/merge brief bib records with full bibliographic records?

  • Are you able to perform copy cataloging from all required external search resources?

For these questions, please test in your IZ only. Work in the NZ is on hold until CLO Metadata Standards are available.

Resource Management and Inventory

Library Activity

Did you contact your electronic material suppliers to use the Alma Link Resolver?

Electronic material suppliers are vendors that need libraries to register their new base URL, as link resolver requests are now coming from a new ILS. Colleges should contact their vendors. [LG to confirm]

Fulfillment

Library Activity - Requests

Are patron-facing notices sent (e.g. courtesy notices, lost loan notices, borrowing activity letters)?

If you are having issues with these notices, your activated jobs may need to be adjusted by Ex Libris. [LG: this referred to p. 5, but I’m not really sure how to phrase the relationship between activated jobs and these notices]

Fulfillment

Library Activity – Fines/Fees

* Are you able to export user fines, fees, and blocks to your bursar office?

Libraries may have chosen not to complete this 3rd party integration.

Fulfillment

Library Activity – Resource Sharing

  • Are you able to create and update resource sharing borrowing requests?

  • Are you able to create/receive and update resource sharing lending requests?

This may be turned off by some libraries.

User Management

Library Activity

Are you able to manage staff users?

Some libraries may have a second integration for staff. Others may be treating staff as Internal users.

General

Library Activity

Have you tested your activated jobs and notify your Ex Libris implementation consultant which jobs should be deactivated (if at all)?

Testing Guidance from Basecamp

All requests for adjustments for scheduled jobs should be sent to Ex Libris.

Analytics
