Introduction

The Configuration Form is customized based on your institution’s Migration and Field Mapping Forms. The purpose is to establish a baseline or starting point for configurations, and to load basic rules.

After the configuration form has been submitted, your Ex Libris Implementation Team can make adjustments if testing shows that changes still need to be made to your Alma configuration. Once staff have completed the Alma Certification Training, Ex Libris will hand off the authority to perform further configuration adjustments to your institution’s Alma administrators.

Configurations and subsequent changes are retained for cutover, as well as users with type ‘public’, libraries & locations codes, vendor records, analytic reports.

Meetings will take place with Ex Libris to walk you through the form and so you can ask questions. There will also be 2 drop-in sessions for extra support.

Instructions & Resources

Your form is available on Basecamp in the Configuration Form folder.

To fill out your Configuration Form, please review the Step 3: Alma Configuration Form - Early Policy Considerations. Then, refer to the annotated Alma Configuration Form Guide - CLSP Version 1 attached below for detailed instructions.

You will find recommendations, notes, and tips related to the CLSP Project in red and blue text. These additions are meant to assist you in filling out your form. If anything is not clear, please let us know by commenting below.

Configuration Form General Tips

  • You MUST fill out the tabs in order presented on the Configuration Form.

  • Do not delay completing the form. There are inputs required for later tabs in the form that will generate time-consuming discussion.

  • Some tabs may require more time to complete than others. Tabs 1-9 should be less time-consuming. Tab 10 may generate considerable discussion about local policies. Tabs 11-16 are relatively short and will not take as much time to complete, especially if you keep the default settings as they often can be configured later.

  • Enable macros.

  • DO NOT add, delete or change cells unless given specific instructions in the Alma Configuration Form Guide.

  • Complete the Data Validity Check tab when done.

Alma Configuration Form Guide Tips

  • The structure of the Guide matches the tabs on the forms, so you can use it in order.

  • Skip chapter 2 (it has been done for you) & chapter 17 and beyond.
