The P2E process involves identifying electronic resources included in your catalogue that are not in the Alma Community Zone and not activated via the link resolver activation sheet. Bibliographic records for these resources are initially migrated as physical item records. The P2E process converts them to electronic portfolios.

Instructions

Review eResource Migration Backgrounder https://clo-collaboration-spaces.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CI/pages/81854517/eResource+Migration+-+Early+Considerations

Between now and October 22

Create a set of electronic resources from your current ILS that will need P2E processing:

  1. Create a list of all electronic collections and individual electronic titles loaded to your catalogue.

  2. Check the https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Content_Corner/Supporting_Resources/Alma_Community_Zone_Collection_List to see if the CZ indexes any of the electronic collections/titles on your list. If so, remove these collections/titles from your list, as they can be activated through the link resolver activation sheet. The remaining items on the list should represent electronic titles in your ILS that need P2E processing.

  3. Create a P2E input file of items that need P2E processing. This will be a .csv file that contains only 2 elements/line: BIB ID, e-resource_type. Fuller instructions can be found in http://exl-edu.com/01_Alma/Implementation_and_Migration/Migration_Guides/P2E/#/lessons/R_Nym9M98DXiieeSnulgCqKYcnERkK6z. This process may involve some vendor support to create a report that simply generates the BIB ID. (Danielle has been able to retrieve some examples of Mandarin report templates for P2E. M3 users will need to ‘Print to File’ to export to .csv ).

Note: To support P2E processing, you will also need to ensure the corresponding form sections are completed

  • P2e section in the Questionnaire tab of the Migration Form. This part of the form asks you to specify which fields in your bibliographic records contain the electronic resource linking information, the provider name and the public note.  (e.g., 856 |u etc.)

  • Identify which locations are e-locations on the Location mapping tab of Migration Form

Due October 25

When your draft P2E list is complete, deliver the file through MFT to ExLibris as specified in this Basecamp post.

Between October 26- Nov 1

Once your draft file has been reviewed:

Due November 1

Deliver the final P2E file through MFT to ExLibris as specified on this Basecamp Post.
