Step 1. High level check - Migration Reports (in MFT folder)

Recommended Action

We recommend you start with checking your migration reports. A review of these reports will give you an overall picture of your collection’s migration and help you determine if further actions are needed, such as data clean up (e.g., 008 edits) or the inclusion/removal of records in files for cut over load.

Description of Migration Reports

Each college’s Testload_Migration_Stats report consist of several tabs that provide an overview of your migration. The report contains migration statistics and includes detailed tabs for bib_inventory, patron, loan and p2e. These tabs also detail rejections specific to each library’s load.

Note: Migration counts for each IZ are also available from your instance of Alma. Go to: Alma > Analytics > Design Analytics > Data Review Dashboard

Step 2. High Level Checks Tab on the Sample Testing Checklist

Recommended Action

We recommend, as your second step, you complete the High Level Checks tab on the Sample Checklist.

Use the High Level Checks tab to review your collection as a whole and report major problems immediately.

You should also use the tab to record examples and any concerns you might want to reference at Cutover.

Note: The other tabs will be covered in later steps of the review and testing process.

Sample Testing Checklist Template
The checklist covers various data types, each on a separate tab and some high-level checks up front. Each tab gives suggestions for the kind of record example you might want to review in Alma.

See Andrea’s Basecamp Post for more information about the Checklist.

IMPORTANT We strongly recommend you use the Checklist for Data Review.
