Follow up from last session - Solution to displaying multiple versions/related records in Primo VE:
Someone had suggested adding a 787 field, which seems to have done the trick! I added a 787 to all the records we wanted to display together (three editions of the same textbook, each with their own bib records), using $t Title and $z ISBN. It didn’t immediately update, but the next day when we searched by title, all three versions were now displaying together for easier discovery
Import Profile for COOL IV and VI collections - marc files:
Please find the following instructions to assist with loading COOL IV using an OCLS import profile distributed through the Community Zone.
After migration, I had decided to hide the Citation Linker from Page 1+. It is an interesting tool, but I thought it might not be used so much. I did not want to put too many links (menu links) at the top.
Just curious : for colleges who made this feature available in their menu links, do you know if it is used often (by staff or Faculty and students) ? Do you find it works well ?
Discussion:
Importing COOL Audiobooks
Brenda Desjardins, St. Lawrence:
followed the instructions for importing the COOL collection
the records are appearing in Primo VE
noticed that there were duplicates after using the Boundless import profile and then turned off the EBSCOhost audiobook collection
St. Lawrence has purchased audiobooks from EBSCO separately that are not part of COOL grouping, have another file for those
Do they need to change the 856 field on those records?
Should they follow the same rule for the 856 field and just add it to that same file?
Jennifer Horwath has the same question about EBSCO purchased audiobooks
Audiobooks showing up as audio cd in Primo VE - is that normal?
only issue they had with first import was there was a parsing error because the extension of the Marc file was changed to .mrk from MarcEdit, so had to go back and resave the file with the extension .mrc
Jessica Reeve, Algonquin:
instructions say that you shouldn’t have those records already, but it turns out they do have old records from the EBSCO audiobooks that have matching OCLC 035s
currently working on going through and taking those out before they put the new ones in
Creating Sets
Alyssa Kuehner, Fanshawe:
want to apply a rule across the board so that records display with a certain note
When creating a set to do that, the set would need to be more than 50 records but the max seems to be 50 records in Alma. Do I create multiple sets and just be mindful that I’m capturing all of the records?
Aimee Jeffrey, Conestoga: You have to do it page by page - select all and add, then go to page 2 and select all and add until you've reached all pages
Search results ranking
Jennifer Horwath, Mohawk:
looking at configuring ranking, boosting of results
in some cases open resources come up more than licensed results/open content floods our result list
not sure if b/c most resources in NZ, if that will affect the effectiveness of configurations
how to configure boosting
looking at blended search profile and de-boosting the CDI to see if that will result in fewer open resources coming up than are currently coming up
want to boost licensed resources from EBSCO and Proquest
Christine Chiasson, Mohawk:
in the ranking configuration there are options for title and creator etc., but documentation says these options are for non-consortial environments, so it looks like the only we can do as far as that ranking configuration is the institution boosting
don’t know how much effect changing boosting and ranking settings will have given the NZ and if that will affect other colleges
Jennifer Horwath, Mohawk:
not sure if other colleges are also looking into this, will post to the Discussion Forum too
Jessica Reeve, Algonquin:
There has been discussion on the Primo listserv in the past about boosting, what other institutions have done - might want to search there if you would like examples of what other institutions have done
a bit of a black box of a feature, insufficient documentation/information from Ex Libris on what impacts these configurations will have
Aimee Jeffrey, Conestoga:
they’ve excluded CDI ebooks in search profile
Travis Winwood, Algonquin:
want to search 996 fields with Analytics, thinking of defining it as one of their local parameters
have others defined other fields that they have found useful to be searching in Analytics?

Alma Digital
Aimee Jeffrey, Conestoga:
can’t turn off full text indexing of digital items
populating higher than anything else in search results
Have you found any solution to the Full Text indexing in our main view? Or do you have them separated out from your main view?
can take the CDI full text view out but not digital records
It's currently set at 0.5 so that hasn't helped
There might not be workaround
Lingling Jiang, Sheridan:
You can adjust which fields to search, like subject, author, etc. maybe you can remove full-text related fields? You can configure which fields of your records to be searched against.
Adding Library Logo to Boundless
Brenda Desjardins, St Lawrence:
How can I add a logo to my library page that comes up with the database?
Christine Chiasson, Mohawk:
there is a place for adding a logo once you log into the admin panel
Vendor contact for Boundless
