Discussion Items

Welcome, Kathleen!

We are thrilled to have you joining us on this subcommittee!

Subcommittee Chair Update from Implementation Steering Committee (Dijana/Liana)

E-resources and Acquisitions: The E-resources and Acquisitions Sub-Committee has not been able to meet for a while (Go-Live and scheduling). At the moment the Sub-Committees main priority is to aid OCLS in troubleshooting e-resource access issues in the network zone

Systems, Analytics, and Data: The Systems, Analytics, and Data Sub-Committee are working to create a list of analytics reports that can be run centrally byOCLS in the Network Zone, and additional reports that would need to be run in the college's Institution Zone to complete CLO Annual Surveys.
In addition, the Sub-Committee is working on a briefing note on how to manage the use of the Sandboxes - this briefing not will include best practices regarding the sharing, and maintenance of the three shared Sandboxes

User Experience: The User Experience Sub-Committee are working on finalizing their briefing note regarding the suppression of harmful language in records. In addition, the Sub-Committee is working on a new briefing note regarding recommendations on resource sharing, this will act as a guide in the interim phase before a formal set of guidelines is provided.

Training/Communication/PR: The Training, Communication, and PR Sub-Committee are very excited to announce the release of Page 1+ promotional video created by the collaborative efforts of Cambrian, Humber, and Boreal College.

035 |9ExL move to 935

The 035 fields in question were created during Sirsi to Alma’s transition to aid in migration.
After some analysis, particularly on physical materials, it has been found that this 035 field is causing noise within records and their match points. With the assistance of ExLibris, a plan has been created to move these 035s created for migration to a 935 field. This clean-up will hopefully be done by the end of next week.

Applicable changes made within the Document

Metadata Editor External Search Sources

Asking OCLS to configure the external search in the NZ so that the same libraries are available for all Page 1+ colleges to search for Marc records.
The subcommittee is looking for (about) six (6) institutions that can be used by all libraries through an external search for continuity in MARC record sourcing.
