Description

OCLS actively supports metadata consistency in the college libraries through centralized metadata management services, with a particular emphasis on the development and maintenance of high-quality, shared records within the system.

This includes the management and support of bibliographic records and support for the College Libraries Ontario (CLO) cataloguing program including CLO metadata standards, shared workflows, and education opportunities.

Resources

The following resources have been developed to support metadata management.

Governance

Metadata management is supported by the Metadata Steering Committee. The purpose of the Steering Committee is to develop and recommend policies, guidelines and workflows regarding standard cataloguing and metadata activities, as well as facilitating discussions regarding local and consortial customization needs. The current chairs are Dijana Kladnjakovic (Humber) and Stacey Boileau (OCLS).
