Subcommittee Chair Update from Implementation Steering Committee (Dijana/Liana)
The draft of the https://clo-collaboration-spaces.atlassian.net/l/c/JWd27m2B briefing note has been approved by the ISC. The Metadata Management will now be considered one of the core services that OCLS will provide moving forward. This will provide standardized and managed records in the Network Zone not only for the colleges participating in Page 1+ but all Ontario Colleges. There will be a team of cataloguers assembled who will support consortium policies and requirements, the tool kit, and create an authority to support Indigenous subject headings, among other things., This draft will next be brought to CLO.
Bookwhere Update: research is ongoing. According to the Library of Congress Bookwhere boats 3000 databases, we are currently looking to acquire a list containing those specific databases to be compared to the pre-existing databases in Alma.
Discuss and Confirm NZ Decisions /wiki/spaces/CI/pages/594051154
These will be used to draft shared Page 1+ workflows (Danielle/Liana)
This will act as a statement/policy for libraries to follow where they can load to the Network Zone rather than the Institution Zone.
There is the general idea or consensus that if records can be loaded or shared to the network zone then it will lighten the overall workload of colleges.
Applicable changes have been recorded within the document (exceptions/under consideration/brief record inclusion fields/match criteria/updating NZ criteria and wording)
ACTION ITEM: Dijana Kladnjakovic to send out an email about the remaining deferred sections that need to be discussed.
Begin Review of Draft Workflows Technical Services Workflows
Audience: to be used by those with basic competencies in Alma’s metadata editor, those who possess a fundamental knowledge of Alma.
Contemplate if there are other details to describe the audience
Contemplate if there will need to be Micro-Steps included in the workflow
The decision for the moment is that we will link to other resources rather than our own, this is temporary
Future: Discussion taking place around a standardized workflow template
Future: Deciding who should be in charge of updating and maintaining workflows
CLO Metadata Toolkit (different name?)
A three columned format has been approved for the CLO Metadata Toolkit.
The first 6 resource types have been chosen: Streaming Video, Ebook, Print Book, Database, Serials, E-Serials.
The review process is still being finalized/discussed - agreed that the construction should begin so the resource can be provided to colleges as soon as possible.
