College Library Electronic Access Rights | CLEAR
Description
CLEAR (College Library Electronic Access Rights) is a tool that assists college library users in determining what they can and cannot do with electronic resources accessed from the library. Using OCUL's OUR Usage Rights software, CLEAR provides a simple interface for entering and displaying summaries of permitted uses identified in licence agreements.
CLEAR Central is the consortial instance, providing a record for each library resource managed by OCLS. It is provided at no additional cost as part of OCLS’s eResources Management service.
CLEAR Local provides participating college libraries with their own branded CLEAR site. CLEAR Local instances are populated with applicable records from CLEAR Central, as well as records created by the library for licence agreements not managed by OCLS.
