Session Notes

  • Update: In the very near future the Page 1+ Blog will be retired. Going forward Listserves will be used for communications and updates.

  • Counter Reports: A noticeable decline has been found in the metrics, being monitored to see if this dip in metrics is conveying a technical issue, decline in users or some other information.

    • So far only one college has spoken about it.

  • Easy-Proxy: Discussion

  • Acquisitions in Alma:

    • Identified a need for a working group in future to help organize the OCLS vendor/acquisitions records, and to create guides for OCLS to follow when creating records

    • Identified that many colleges plan to start using the acquisitions feature in the next year if they have not already done so

  • Non-Circulating Items: last time we discussed an issue with non-circulating items in the circulation process, this issue has been resolved.

  • EBSCO: A new issue has arisen with the EBSCO link resolver. If the resource cannot be reached, then people are being sent back to the home colleges landing page.

  • Hold Disappearance: The issue of ‘hold disappearance’ has been resolved, it appears that the holds disappeared because of student cancelation.

  • Decolonization Recommendations: So far the suppression of subject-headings has been a very straight forwards process; however, by suppressing the terms some resources are left without any visible subject-headings. Are there guidelines for replacing subject headings coming?

    • Yes, there are guidelines coming. The topic will be brought the MET/CAT subcommittee. They have been focusing on cataloguing standards hence no further decolonization guidelines.

  • SIS Integration Errors: Walk through of steps to avoid SIS Integration errors

  • Attachments: You can add attachments to user accounts, the same as adding attachments to vendor accounts
