Discussion Items

Subcommittee Chair Updates (Julie, Leigh, Dijana, Gordana, Jane)

UX: No updates since the last meeting.

Met/Cat: No updates as they have not met. They are now meeting every second week.

E-Res/Acq: No updates since the last meeting.

TCPR: They met yesterday and welcomed a new member from Mohawk. They are working on a Page 1+ article for InsideOCULA that will be published in the next month or so. They reviewed their Terms of Reference and identified subcommittee responsibilities that will need to find a new home. These include:

  • Reminders to college libraries to share content/promotion of Page 1+.

  • To continue to tell/build the story/narrative of Page 1+ broadly.

  • Sharing training opportunities - can be LibGuide but will need to be updated and maintained

  • Study Group - continue on a less frequent basis

A lot of this work was/is done by PMO. This may be addressed by the governance plans and may be handled by OCLS as the “inheritor” of PMO.

SAD: SAD has prepared a broad briefing note about the sandboxes that mainly indicates that there are guidelines to follow with regards to sandbox management. As Gordana is absent, voting on the briefing note will be added to Sept 27 agenda https://clo-collaboration-spaces.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CIS/pages/311951361

OCLS Update (Virginia)

OCLS will be taking over CLO’s LibGuide subscription as CLO will not be using it for the CLO site in the future. The URL for the Page 1+ and CLO Metadata Standards LibGuides will not change.

Syndetics trial is coming to an end and they ready to go forward with contract. Everyone except the French colleges are going to continue with it. Sirsi colleges will have their pricing grandfathered in, new subscribers are getting a min. $500 discount. It will be renewed annually with opportunity to exit.

OCLS is working to set up a simple, straightforward structure for colleges to get support or assistance from OCLS for Page 1+ and also internally looking at capacity to take on subcommittee work as needed.

Draft Governance Proposal

The proposal details how Page 1+ fits within the CLO structure. It was shared in CLO Executive meeting this week. It will be presented to CLO on Sept 28. They will discuss and have feedback. Then it will come to ISC.

ACTION ITEM: Everyone to review https://clo-collaboration-spaces.atlassian.net/l/cp/PXea7i74 and bring any questions/feedback to Sept 27 meeting.

The document has proposed definitions for committee, working group, etc. but they are open for discussion.

There is still work to be done with regards to the proposal. It will be important for subcommittee chairs to ensure that all the subcommittee responsibilities that need to continue are identified and included in the future plan.

Rialto Update

Virginia has meeting on Rialto with ProQuest rep on Thursday and they are working on MOU. Virginia has requested a draft copy but has not received it yet. OCLS would like to continue to receive a discount as we did with OASIS but that still has to be negotiated. Rialto has no costs, but there may be a one-time cost from certain publishers to be set up on Rialto. Virginia will investigate in her meeting.
