Introduction

SIS integration can begin as soon as a college has enabled User Authentication. Colleges can also prepare draft SIS extract files for Ex Libris to review at any time.

New information will be added to this page as we learn more.

Activities

Review Technical Documentation

a) User Management in Alma

b) Details on SIS integration (extract, xml build)

c) Data dictionary (xsd for version 2)
https://developers.exlibrisgroup.com/alma/apis/xsd/rest_user.xsd?tags=SIS

Note: User group code definitions come from the Library’s current ILS, rather than those listed in the xsd link above.  "Mandatory" fields are marked.

d) SIS Loader PowerPoint and Sample Files from Ex Libris (Examples are from the US and not using Banner)

e) Sample XML file from Loyalist. This file was populated with student information from Banner. The job ran nightly, placing the updated student file in an SFTP folder for upload to Loyalist’s instance of Alma.

f) If a library chooses to have custom configurations in Alma, they may want to create a sample XML extract of this data to provide to their IT department. The document below includes instructions for extracting a sample user from Alma for IT staff.
