Currently, the college libraries are locked out of Alma and Primo VE until Ex Libris releases the colleges' final environments for data review and acceptance. However, they still have access to the sandboxes for testing.
We strongly suggest that college libraries use this time to train their staff and communicate about Page 1+ to their staff, faculty and students. If staff are on vacation or expected to join the library for the fall, we recommend preparing training plans and material during this quieter period. Please see Useful Resources below.
Post-Go Live Checklist Activities
Ex Libris and the PMO have prepared a list of activities that college libraries will need to do once they have accepted their Alma and Primo environments. These activities include running the Student Information Systems data to update patrons in the new system, updating library URLs and websites to link to the Primo search box and managing e-resource collection access. In addition, OCLS is preparing has shared their Cutover and post Go-Live activities so that colleges can be are aware of what OCLS will be doing on their behalf.
Planning for the Future of Page 1+
The Implementation Steering Committee has formed a working group to develop a permanent governance structure for the Page 1+ consortium after Go Live. They are working in collaboration with the CLO Executive as they look to streamline their structure. This collaboration will ensure that Page 1+ governance is integrated with the future structure of CLO. The purpose of this integration is to ensure that , allowing the efficiencies and benefits of Page 1+ can to be leveraged for CLO initiatives.

OCLS Service Update
Realize After feedback from a college focus group, OCLS has realized the need for a holistic approach for colleges to provide some feedback. Preparing presentation on Service Proposals for ISC
Service Proposals in development - list?
CLEAR work
Currently, OCLS is soliciting feedback on the Metadata Management service proposal from the Metadata/Cataloguing Subcommittee. OCLS is proposing to act as a central body that actively promotes and supports metadata consistency, with an emphasis on developing, maintaining, and sharing high-quality records across the system, including with colleges outside the Page 1+ consortium. This work will be done in conjunction with a standing Metadata Subcommittee. The proposal will also be reviewed by the Implementation Steering Committee.
In addition, OCLS is working on a Page 1+ Consortium Service Proposal. This proposal will focus on activities that add value to the consortium and leverage OCLS resources on behalf of the college libraries, some of which may be on a cost-recovery basis. Further developments for this service proposal include developing specific service descriptions and value propositions that reflect the colleges' priorities.
The Syndetics Unbound trial has started and a Syndetics tutorial and Q&A was held last week to support the colleges with the integration into Alma. The colleges have also been sharing knowledge with each other to help get everyone going! Pricing has been provided to all colleges and the license will be signed in September, on behalf of libraries who wish to keep the tool beyond the end of the trial.

Celebration allowance from OCLS
Sharing is caring - value of collaboration: Centennial Primo LibGuide | St Lawrence Training LibGuide | Humber Presentation | ???to the Page 1+ service proposals to give colleges an overall idea about the service areas that OCLS will cover. They are preparing a summary presentation that will provide an overview of the service proposals and a high level summary of the proposed activities.
Current service proposals in development include:
Page 1+ Consortium
Metadata Management
E-Resource Management (ERM)
Permitted Uses (formerly CLEAR)
Sandbox Management
Resource Sharing
OCLS has also been working on how to display permitted uses for e-resources in Primo VE. They will take a phased approach, starting with adding a CLEAR link to the electronic record in the Network Zone (NZ). This allows the relevant permitted uses for that item to appear in Primo search results for college library users. More sophisticated solutions will be explored for future phases.
🎉 Fun Stuff
It’s almost time to celebrate the launch of Page 1+ at your libraries. OCLS has kindly provided a celebration allowance for each college and we look forward to seeing how you celebrate!
We also wanted to highlight some amazing resources that colleges have shared. We can already see the value of collaboration for the Page 1+ consortium. Please check out some
