More information on the package OCLS is negotiating is outlined below:
Any Any Sirsi Consortium college that has not upgraded to Syndetics Unbound will be upgraded. The total annual price paid by those colleges will be grandfathered. OCLS will follow the standard cost sharing allocation model to share the cost.
Other colleges, outside the Sirsi Consortium, who have an existing Syndetics Classic subscription will also be upgraded and have their pricing grandfathered.
OCLS is still negotiating the price for colleges who have never had Syndetics before. The initial offer price is $1495. OCLS is still negotiating towards a better offer and more details will be provided.
The French content in Syndetics is limited. If, after a trial, Boreal or La Cite wish to subscribe to Syndetics OCLS will negotiate special pricing that recognizes the service’s limitations.
Eventually OCLS aims to have one total annual price for all participating colleges and the standard allocation model will be used to share the cost equitably. French colleges would be an exception with special pricing.
OCLS is negotiating a 3-year term to reduce or eliminate annual increases.
All colleges will be able to begin with a trial to Syndetics Unbound, even if they already have Unbound. The trial will begin mid-May and run until August 31 (or possibly Sept 31). All colleges will have the opportunity to become familiar with Syndetics Unbound and to integrate it into Primo VE.
The initial subscription term for Syndetics Unbound will be prorated for September 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023 (possibly October 1). The subscription will run on the college fiscal year, thereafter.
