SIS integration can begin as soon as a college has enabled User Authentication. Colleges can also prepare draft SIS extract files for Ex Libris to review at any time.

Activities

Set Up Support Portal Cases

Once colleges have been provided the Alma test environments, ExL will set up Support Portal Cases for each college - one Alma one Primo for each college. IT personnel should be included as a contact in Support Portal Cases. Please contact your library if you do not have access to the cases. The cases will be used to provide instruction and support for college personnel working to set up user authentication.

Ex Libris will have a dedicated IT consultant to guide colleges through the setup. They will plan to meet individually with each college if necessary and set up meetings for colleges using the following Authentication types: SAML, LDAP, CAS.

Determine matching ID

Libraries should meet meet with campus IT staff to discuss any questions and identify a unique attribute needed for Alma authorization. Suggested attendees:

...

Library contact: library person who knows the unique IDs stored in the ILS

...

Server administrator contact: campus IT staff responsible for authentication (will know unique identifiers)

...

rest_user.xsd?tags=SIS

Note: User group code definitions come from the Library’s current ILS, rather than those listed in the xsd link above.  "Mandatory" fields are marked.
